Scott E. Ashton is President and CEO of Aerox Aviation Oxygen Systems, based
in Bonita Springs, FL. Mr. Ashton is an aerospace industry executive with more
than 25 years of experience working for such leading companies as Sikorsky,
General Electric, and Goodrich. Mr. Ashton began his career in 1992 at General
Electric Aircraft Engines as an engineer working in rotations in compressor and
turbine aerodynamics and controls and accessory systems design on the CF34
and F414 engines. Mr. Ashton served a total of 7 years with General Electric,
uniquely serving in both engineering and business development capacities in
both GE Aircraft Engines and Commercial Finance businesses.
Prior to joining Sikorsky in 2011, Mr. Ashton’s work included Goodrich, where he served as the Director of
Business Development of their Engine Controls business, and joining forces with Bob Crandall, then
recently retired Chairman of American Airlines, to launch Pogo, the world’s first large scale attempt at
solving the urban air mobility challenge. In 2011, Mr. Ashton was hired by Sikorsky to serve as President
of their helicopter fractional ownership and MRO business, Associated Aircraft Group (AAG). AAG is one
of the largest helicopter maintenance and charter operators in the United States.
After nearly 7 years with Sikorsky, and more than 20 years working for OEMs, Mr. Ashton made the decision
to shift his career from the corporate environment to entrepreneurship. In 2018 Mr. Ashton joined a small
family owned repair station as President of their repair station (Corporate Services Supply & Manufacturing)
specializing in the repair and overhaul of corporate aircraft and helicopter engine and airframe accessories.
In 2020, Mr. Ashton purchased Aerox Aviation Oxygen Systems and became President and CEO.
Since 2003, Mr. Ashton has served as the President and Board Member of the New England Air Museum,
based in Hartford, Connecticut. Given Connecticut’s leading role in the development of aviation in the
United States, the New England Air Museum is one of the larger and more important aviation museums in
the country. Mr. Ashton also currently serves on the Board of Patient Airlift Services, a charitable
organization that arranges private air transportation at no cost for individuals requiring medical diagnosis,
treatment or follow-up, and for humanitarian purposes. Mr. Ashton is an ATP rated pilot with multi-engine
ratings for airplanes, helicopters, and is a Certificated Flight Instructor, with more than 2,600 hours of flight
time.
Mr. Ashton’s education includes a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester
Polytechnic Institute, a Masters of Engineering from the University of Hartford, and an MBA from the Lally
School of Business at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Ashton and his wife have three grown children
and they split their time between their homes in Farmington, Connecticut and Naples, Florida.
