The eight new DA20-C1s will increase Skyline Aviation’s fleet to 26 single- and twin-engine Diamond Aircraft, which provide flight training for Angelo State University’s Commercial Aviation Program.
Premier Aircraft Sales, Inc., North America’s oldest and largest Diamond Aircraft dealer, announced today that it had signed a firm order with Skyline Aviation for eight new Diamond DA20-C1 Technically Advanced Training (TAA) aircraft.
“We are extremely proud that Skyline Aviation and Angelo State University have put their trust in the Diamond DA20-C1 to train the next generation of professional pilots,” stated Premier Aircraft Sales’ Regional Sales Manager, Dirk Vander Zee. “They already have 18 Diamond DA20s, DA40s, and DA42s in their fleet, and the new-generation DA20-C1s will serve their needs well into the future.”
“With a long-term agreement to be the flight training provider for Angelo State University’s (part of the Texas Tech University System) growing Commercial Aviation Program, its essential that we have the safest and most capable fleet of training aircraft available,” stated Skyline Aviation’s CEO and Chief Flight Instructor, Jonathan Shorey. “With its enviable safety record, pilot-friendly flight characteristics, and low operating costs, the new DA20 is the ideal choice for private through advanced Instrument training.”
Established in 2021, Angelo State University’s Commercial Aviation Program is one of the most modern and fastest-growing professional flight training curriculums in Texas.
“The ASU Commercial Aviation Program has been selected by Southwest Airlines to be part of its Destination 225-degree (225º) pilot recruitment program, which gives ASU graduates a defined pathway to a right seat with Southwest,” he added. “As an FAA Technically Advanced Trainer, the Diamond DA20 gives our students the experience they need with operating today’s advanced digital avionics and autopilot systems.”
“We could not be happier with our Diamond fleet and the support that we have received from Premier Aircraft Sales,” Shorey said. “Dirk and his team have been with us every step of the way, providing a wealth of information and guidance on buying and operating our entire Diamond fleet.”
With this eight DA20-C1 order, Skyline Aviation’s fleet of delivered and on-order Diamond Aircraft includes 26 Diamond DA20s, four Diamond DA40s, one Diamond DA42 twin, and two Redbird simulators configured for the three Diamond models they operate.
