High Flying Hangars Wins RFP for Development of 40-Acre Site at Boulder City Municipal Airport near Las Vegas, Nevada

The municipality of Boulder City, Nevada, has awarded development rights to 40 acres of land at Boulder City Municipal Airport to High Flying Hangars, based on the company’s proposed hangar development. High Flying Hangars was one of several respondents to an open request for proposal for the development opportunity.

“The total acreage we have to work with at BVU allows us to build a large number of hangars in a wide range of sizes to support the growing needs of local aircraft owners,” said Lisa deFrees, SVP of Sales and Marketing for High Flying Hangars. The design in development currently includes hangars from 40 feet in width, for single-engine piston aircraft, up to 120 feet in width for larger private jets, along with a multi-use clubhouse facility for owners. Representatives from both High Flying Hangars and the city of Boulder City are currently working towards a long-term lease agreement as plans to develop move forward.

Boulder City Municipal Airport is expected to see an overall increase in fuel sales and other revenues, in addition to the residual benefit to the community surrounding the airport, such as people visiting the historic town, or going to a restaurant, or sightseeing at nearby Hoover Dam, for which Boulder City is a gateway. The airport sits 13 nm / 15 sm east of Henderson Executive Airport and 16 nm / 18.4 sm southeast of Harry Reid International Airport in the Las Vegas metro area.

“High Flying Hangars is thrilled to partner with Airport Manager Marissa Adou, and everyone involved at Boulder City Municipal Airport,” said High Flying Hangars CEO Kenny Hinkes. “The Las Vegas metroplex will surely find in BVU the land, vision, and leadership to provide the community with much needed high-quality hangars for the owner-flown category of aircraft. The economic impact will extend well beyond the airport’s footprint.”

High Flying Hangars expects demand for hangars at BVU to be high. Parties interested in a hangar at Boulder City Municipal Airport are invited to make an inquiry by visiting the contact page on the High Flying Hangars website and filling out the form. This allows them to receive development updates and lock-in pre-construction pricing as soon as it’s available. More information regarding the site and proposed makeup of the hangar layout will be announced at a later date.
