The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) announced a new member benefit with exclusive access to Windsock, a new market-based, data-driven aircraft valuation tool that uses real-world market data to provide new insights into how much an aircraft is worth.

Windsock, which was built specifically for general aviation, offers an unbiased, transparent aircraft valuation tool designed for pilots and aircraft owners. To generate a report, members enter details such as year, make, model, total time, engine time, avionics, and equipment.
“Aircraft valuation tools have historically been one of our most popular benefits. A tool like Windsock provides a valuable reference point for pilots as they consider buying or selling an aircraft. We’re excited to partner with Windsock to offer this benefit available only through AOPA,” said AOPA Senior Vice President of Marketing Strategy and Growth Katie Pribyl.
“We’re thrilled to partner with AOPA to give aircraft owners and pilots access to Windsock and the insights it provides,” said Windsock Founder Ian Hoyt. “Together, we’re helping AOPA members make some of the most important decisions in their ownership journey with greater confidence and peace of mind.”
As part of the new offering, AOPA members receive 12 free Windsock valuation reports each year. Unused valuation reports reset on a rolling 12-month cycle, and members receive a discount on any additional reports they choose to purchase.
“Windsock delivers instant, aircraft-specific valuation reports that give owners and pilots a clear, real-time view of what an aircraft could be worth,” added Hoyt. “Powered by advanced machine learning and statistical modeling, Windsock turns complex market data into actionable insight, helping pilots and aircraft owners move forward with confidence at every stage of ownership.”
“We’ve worked closely with the Windsock team over the last few months to help ensure AOPA members can get the most out of this valuable resource,” said AOPA Senior Manager of Operations Charles Lehman. “The depth of insight available through Windsock reinforces our confidence that this will be a highly valuable tool for members exploring aircraft ownership and valuation, and we’re excited to introduce a platform we believe will become an important part of the member experience.”
“We’re constantly looking for new ways to make AOPA membership more valuable to pilots,” said AOPA President and CEO Darren Pleasance. “Tools like Windsock give our members access to better information, helping them make informed and confident aircraft transaction decisions.”
