    Airforms Expands Axle Replacement Offerings

Anchorage, AK – Axles bend. Axles break. They seem to suffer the most on aircraft flown into backcountry locations and landed at off-airport sites. In the past, OEM axles have been hard to find. Consequently, Airforms has found an expanding customer base for their PMA axles. Airforms stocks axles for the Cessna 170, 172, 175, 180, 182, 185, 206, 208, and 305 (L-19).

The company has PMAs for steel axles which come anodized and provide greater strength than aluminum axles, especially in ski plane and tundra tire operations.

Airforms also produces titanium axles, which are nearly a pound lighter and predictably, more expensive. The titanium axles will not rust. The axles are designed to bolt onto Cessna’s single piece spring steel gear and take only a brief time to swap out.

They also stock axles for the Helio Courier.
